Originally  started  as  a  joint  venture，  Siemens  Shanghai  Medical  Equipment  Ltd.  was  officially  announced  as  wholly  owned  foreign  enterprise  since  March  2005  by  Siemens  AG.  SSME  is  specialized  in  the  full  line  business  of  sourcing，  manufacture，  development，  and  support  for  Computer  Tomography  systems，  X-ray  systems  as  well  as  other  medical  equipments.
SSME  is  not  only  an  extended  manufacturing  base  of  Siemens  Medical  Solutions  to  serve  domestic  and  global  market，  but  also，  and  more  importantly，  serve  as  a  R&D  center  for  further  product  developments.
